Welcome to the  home page for the Great Plains Corvair Club - Fargo, North Dakota's only car club dedicated exclusively to the one and only Chevrolet Corvair. Unique in its history within, construction by, and impact on the American Automobile Industry.

The Corvair is, among other things:

* The first and still the only American automobile sold by Detroit's automakers to the general public with an air-cooled rear engine.

* The first "production car" to be sold with a turbo engine.

* The car credited with establishing the "sports car" market in America, and with inspiring the development of the Ford Mustang--by which it was outsold tremendously, ironically paving the way for its replacement by Chevrolet with the Camaro.
